Westhill District Team Success at Upper Deeside '08
To it’s credit, the Upper Deeside Challenge is a quite unique annual swimming event where specific conditions require to be met in up to two swimming disciplines, either at 50m, 100m and 200m distances and/or the 50m Sprints. Although individual awards are presented in each category, it is the accumulative points total for each team entered which really counts in terms of the overall Team winners.
This years event, on Saturday 22nd November at the usual venue in Aboyne, saw the Westhill District Swim Team gain medals in nearly all individual disciplines in each age group and this contribution by most members of the squad led to a combined aggregate points tally of 47 points, well clear of the rest of a very strong field. The WDASC Team were very proud to accept the “Team Trophy Award” at the medal presentation prior to the icy journey home from Aboyne.
