Basic Training Details - All Squads
- Arrive before the start of your session – 5 minutes in advance for squads 4 and 5 and at least 10 minutes in advance for 1, 2 and 3.
- Boys please wear Swimsuit/trunks (not long baggy shorts – though exceptions are made for proper fitted swimming shorts.
- Take goggles plus a spare pair (which should be adjusted to fit properly)..
- Always take a juice bottle (mineral water bottles aren’t very suitable because the labels get soggy and fall off – making a mess of poolside. A proper sports juice bottle filled with diluting juice or cold water will do).
- Girls should always wear caps for training ( this does not need to be a club cap which can be kept for competitions ). Swimming without a cap can restrict your vision and also causes far more chlorine damage to your hair.
- All clothing and bags should be put into a locker because the changing rooms get cleaned while the swimmers are training.
- Clothes left in cubicles may be removed by pool staff if this interferes with the cleaning routine. Swimmers in Squads 1, 2 and 3 are expected to have flippers, kick boards, pull buoys and paddles and these should always be taken on to poolside each session.
- A full range of swimming clothing and equipment can be purchased from the club swim shop on a Sunday evening.
